Overview
As many States implement independent restrictions on Outbound calling and SMS, Time Zone conversion becomes vital to compliance.
We have updated the Time Zone Conversion setting. The new Area Code or Address Time Zone Conversion setting is used to determine whether we use an Area Code or an Address when processing conversions. When set to Address, the setting will utilize Zip Codes when available rather than just the State to process Time Zone Conversions.
What's Changing?
The Area Code or Address Time Zone Conversion setting (formerly referred to as Area Code or State Time Zone Conversion) is used to determine whether we use the Area Code or an address when processing time zone conversions.
- If this setting is set to Address and if we have a zip code for a Lead, we now process the time zone conversion based on the zip code rather than just the state.

There are more than 10 states in the U.S. that span multiple time zones. This improvement will ensure that we select the correct time zone for a particular zip code, thus enhancing compliance with TCPA rules. If we have neither a state nor zip code, the area code is used.
- Example: All zip codes starting with 979 in Oregon are on Mountain time and not on Pacific. Calls to leads in any of the 979 ZIP codes will now be scheduled on Mountain Time and not on Pacific time as they would have been before the release of this improvement.

Configuring Time Zone Conversion in Global Settings
1.) Click the Account main menu.
2.) Click the Global Settings menu option.
The Global Settings will open.
3.) Scroll down to the Area Code or Address Time Zone Conversion toggle setting.
4.) Set to Address or Area Code.

Area Code:
Selecting this option tells the system to base Time Zone Conversions on the Lead's Area Code. -
Address:
Selecting this option tells the system to base Time Zone Conversions on the Lead's Zip Code, if available, then their State when there is no Zip Code listed; if neither Zip Code or State is available, then it will use the Lead's Area Code.
5.) Click the Apply Changes button at the bottom right.
