This article covers common issues you might run into when building, testing, or deploying a Voice AI Agent, along with what to check for each one. Possible issues range from setup problems, like Agent Preview not loading or campaigns not showing up when you create a Fleet, to in-call behavior, like an agent that stops talking, goes off-script, or struggles with pronunciation.
Find the issue that matches what you’re seeing in the table below and work through the suggested checks. If the problem persists, please contact Convoso Support or your CSM.
| Issue | What to check |
| Agent Preview isn't working | Temporarily disable your company VPN and check for firewall conflicts. Preview uses WebRTC, which some networks block — work with your IT team to allow it. |
| Agent stops talking mid-call | Check the agent's model configuration and make sure at least two fallback (backup) LLM options are set up. |
| Call transfer isn't working | Confirm the transfer tool (for example, Cold Transfer) is added and configured, and use a Dispatch Tool node for the transfer. Check that the target queue is in the Fleet's Allowed transfer queues. |
| Poor voice quality or mispronunciations | Adjust the voice settings (speed, volume, Natural Numbers) or add pronunciation overrides. |
| Not happy with the voice style | Try a different voice or voice provider, or use voice cloning. |
| Agent goes off-script or calls end up in the wrong place | Review the workflow's nodes and edges for misconfigured paths, loops, or dead ends. |
| Leads aren't qualified well | Define strict qualification criteria and targeted vetting questions in the agent's system prompt. |
| Tools are missing or unavailable | Verify your integrations and OAuth connection, and reconnect if needed. |
| Campaigns don't appear when creating a Fleet | Click Sync from Convoso. If they still don't appear, check your API integration and OAuth setup. |
| Agent isn't listed when creating a Fleet | Make sure the agent is published and activated. |
