Answering machine detection works by calculating the numbers of words and amount of silence between them when the call is first answered. This method is not 100% effective but can detect almost all standard answering machine messages.
Notes on answering machine detection:
- AMD can only be used in Ratio/Predictive dialing modes.
- AMD will not detect 100%of the answering machines.
- AMD won't work on cellular phones.
- Calls will take longer to get to agents, because the system "listens" to the first few seconds of the call to determine if it is an Answering Machine or a Live person.

Step 1: Login to the URL http://admin.safesoftsolutions.com using your Admin credentials.
Step 2: Click the tab Campaigns and then, Show Campaigns.
Step 3: Click the settings icon for the campaign to be changed.
Step 4: Navigate to Section 5 - Answering Machine Detection (AMD) and under Dialer Type choose whether you want to Activate (Dialer with Answering Machine Detection ON) or deactivate (Dialer with Answering Machine Detection OFF) the feature.
Dialer with Answering Machine Detection ON - system will not route any Answering Machine messages to your agents if it is activated, only live calls.
Dialer with Answering Machine Detection OFF - system will route all type of calls to your agents whether it is an Answering Machine messages or a Live person if it is disable.

Step 5: Scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Save Changes" to apply the settings.
