1. Open the sound panel. You can do this by going to the "Apple" menu and choosing "System Preferences." Select the sound icon. The sound panel will open.
2. Plug your headset into a USB port. If you have an analog headset with a green and pink mini jack, plug it into the appropriate ports.
3. Make sure the headset you are using is selected in the input box of the sound panel
4. Speak into the microphone. You will see VU meterson the bottom of the sound panel that show if your voice is being picked up.
TIP: On both Macs and PCs, you can troubleshoot the sound from the control panel. Go to the "Sound" section of the control panel, make sure nothing is muted and that your headset is selected. Finally, make sure the volume is not turned down.
