There are a couple of possibilities for this scenario. These hang ups are also referred to as dropped calls.
- A dropped call occurs when a call is connected to a lead, but no agent is available to answer the call.
- If the lead disconnects before the agent is connected, the system will flag that as a dropped call.
- If the lead disconnects as the agent accepts the call, the agent may disposition the call as a dropped call.
In this scenario you may want to consider lowering the Dial Speed on the campaign.
This scenario is actually a normal occurrence as customers are able to tell when a telemarketer is calling because of the 1 to 3 second delay that occurs between them saying hello and you getting connected.
