Quality of Service(QoS) is a set of technologies that work on a network to guarantee its ability to dependably run high-priority applications and traffic under limited network capacity. QoS technologies accomplish this by providing differentiated handling and capacity allocation to specific flows in network traffic. It is used to set up priority to specific devices, services, or applications within the network through the router so that the maximum amount of available throughput and speed can be used.
- Log into your account. Open your browser and enter the manufacturer’s default IP address, typically located on the underside of your router or in the user manual or a custom one that you set. Using your username and password, log into your router settings page. (If you forgot the password, you may need to contact your internet provider before resetting the router)
- Locate the QoS Settings. This can likely be found as a subcategory beneath advanced network settings or Wireless Settings.
- Click on the Set Up QoS Rule button. QoS Rules are customized settings to tell the router what types of traffic to give priority to.
Two types of QoS setup that we recommend. (Ethernet LAN ports or specified MAC addresses)
3.1- You can prioritize Category, and select the Ethernet LAN port where your computer is connected.
-Select your desired LAN port (1, 2, 3, or 4).
-Under Priority, select Highest, High, Normal, or Low. This selects internet access priority for the port traffic relative to other applications.
3.2- You can prioritize Category, and select the MAC address of the computer connected to the router.
-You can enter the MAC address of the computer
-Under Priority, select Highest, High, Normal, or Low. This selects internet access priority for the port traffic relative to other applications.
3.3 - You can Prioritize IP range QoS. Just make sure that your router supports IP range QoS set up.
-You need to get the IP range of the network that you want to prioritize and configure it the router.
- Click Apply. Then reboot your router.

If your router doesn’t support QoS, we strongly recommend getting a router that is QoS capable.
If your router has a different configuration on how to setup QoS, please contact your internet provider or router manufacturer support to help you set up.
